Unity College Distance Education Vice President Donavan Outten has announced the hiring of Dr. Uzell Williams as Dean of General Education and Environmental Studies for Distance Education.

Dr. Williams comes to Unity College from Florida where she has worked in higher education for more than a decade. She holds an MBA in Finance, MS in Accounting, CPA License, and a Doctorate in Business Administration.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Williams spearheading our Distance Education general education curriculum. Her focus on accessibility and sustainability as well as her leadership qualities are an asset to Unity College as we work to become more widely available to students nationwide,” said Unity College President Dr. Melik Peter Khoury.

“In my various roles I’ve done everything from adjunct faculty, fulltime faculty, managing faculty, managing programs, developing programs, creating advisory boards and academic councils … I’ve seen higher education change and evolve over that time, and I really feel at this stage I can take the best of all of my experiences and apply them here,” said Dr. Williams.

Dr. Williams is also the owner of a CPA firm where the focus is on growing small and medium businesses through accounting, consulting, personal and corporate taxation, financial analysis, budgeting, business valuation and auditing.
