Unity Environmental University

Announcing Our Evolution

“By evolving our name, we’re embracing a natural metamorphosis, a testament to the transformation and progress we’ve achieved, and a beacon of the vibrant future we’re creating together.”

—Dr. Melik Peter Khoury

Unity College is proud to announce its name is changing to Unity Environmental University. This change reflects the College’s evolution from a small, private liberal arts college to a Master’s College & University as recognized by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.

In its current state, the University offers numerous degree programs, including associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees at multiple locations throughout the state. Additionally, the University now offers micro-credentials, non-credit learning opportunities, and a variety of mission-aligned services.

Led by the President, Board of Trustees, and the Senior Leadership team, and with support from the Maine Department of Education and the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), this institutional transformation is being recognized with a new name. Unity Environmental University is dedicated to advancing sustainability leadership skills through education, commerce, and knowledge generation.
