Dr. Kristen Voehl received her degree in Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Tufts University and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. Dr. Voehl is certified as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine.

Following graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Voehl worked in small animal emergency and general practice settings as well as completing a rotating internship at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Voehl has practiced in Rhode Island, Alaska, Kentucky, and Massachusetts. She worked as a civilian veterinarian for the U.S. Army veterinary services in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Dr. Voehl previously served as a member of a National Veterinary Response Team and a Veterinary Medical Assistance Team, with a deployment during the Hurricane Katrina Response in 2005. She volunteered with the American Red Cross teaching Basic First Aid for pets as well as serving as the Pets and Warriors Program Veterinarian for therapy animals visiting patients at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. She also had the opportunity to volunteer with the United States Army Public Health Command in Europe evaluating the Lyme Disease Surveillance System. Dr. Voehl currently also works on the database team for the Veterinary Information Network.

Dr. Voehl has teaching experience with undergraduate veterinary technology students teaching Mammalian Anatomy and Physiology labs and Veterinary Parasitology. She is also an assistant for a preparatory course that helps prepare veterinarians to take the ACVPM board certification exam.
