Board of Trustees
Unity Environmental University Leadership
Showing a commitment to higher education.
Providing leadership and strategic vision.
As an independent not-for-profit educational institution, Unity Environmental University relies on its board of trustees for functions ranging from hiring the chief executive officer to determining the strategic vision of the University and being fiduciary stewards of the institution.
Unity Environmental University is fortunate to have a board of trustees made up of highly skilled professionals, thought leaders, relationship managers, and key donors who have demonstrated a commitment to higher education, sustainability, student success, and to Unity Environmental University itself. As with all independent educational institutions, members of the Unity Environmental University Board of Trustees volunteer because they believe in the mission of the University. The Board are active in the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges.
The Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges outlines the singular nature of a board of trustee member.
To be invited to serve on a board of trustees is one of the highest honors a college or university can bestow upon an individual. Such an invitation indicates that the individual has made a significant contribution to his or her community, has made noteworthy achievements in the service of society, and is capable of making equally important contributions to the institution and to higher education. In a nation of 260 million people, only 50,000 citizens currently serve on academic governing boards. – From “Trustee Responsibilities: a Basic Guide for Governing Boards of Independent Institutions,” published by the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges
Of those 50,000 board members serving nationally, 13 currently serve as members of the board of Unity Environmental University.
Unity Environmental University is honored by the service of our exemplary board of trustees.
