Top 9 Ways for Alumni to Engage

August 25, 2020

As Unity College continues to evolve in order to expand our reach, bringing our mission to more people throughout the United States, and globally, your engagement remains vital. Many of our alumni have helped support Unity College and our students in a variety of ways, and we are grateful for your commitment to your alma mater. Be sure to check out the Top 9 Ways for Alumni to Engage and learn about more ways to get involved.

This week marks the launch of Hybrid Learning, a way of offering higher education that is flexible, accessible, and more affordable for our students.  Hybrid Learning is also a COVID-19 resistant approach to higher education, allowing us the flexibility to determine how best to offer courses based on the shifting characteristics of COVID-19.  Where many schools are already regretting their decision to return fully face-to-face this year, we stand by the decision to put our students, staff, and faculty health first.

Unity College has experienced unprecedented growth, particularly in our Distance Education programs, and we have a more diverse student body than ever before. You can read the recent press release about this growth here. With this exciting news, we want to be sure that you, as alumni, are aware of how you can be a part of this growth.

I wanted to take a moment to share with you the various ways you can remain or become involved in the advancement of the Unity College mission today.

Internships
Do you know of available internships at your business or organization that could benefit our students? Could you work with your employer to develop an internship opportunity for a Unity student? Please reach out to us at development@unity.edu.

Earn a Micro-credential
Ready to take the next step in your academic or professional journey?  Earn a micro-credential from Unity College Distance Education to gain valuable skills and a strong credential to add to your resume.

Book a Trip to Sky Lodge
A great way to support Unity College while seeing some beautiful parts of Maine!  Sky Lodge is a vacation destination, but also a place where Unity College students take immersive classes.  Did you know that Unity College alumni receive 10% off lodging and food? Check out the beautiful Sky Lodge cabins and book your stay today.

Financial Support
Contributions remain a vital aspect of a thriving mission. We know you have great passion for Unity College and we challenge you to make a tangible expression of it. A financial contribution is a great way to do that. To explore our several giving opportunities, visit our Giving page.
Two specific opportunities to support are our newest special appeals. Please consider giving toward our Student Internship Endowment Fund and/or Hybrid Learning. The Student Internship Endowment Fund, once fully funded, will help our students with travel and living expenses, so their internships are not limited by geography. A gift toward Hybrid Learning can help enhance the experiential learning opportunities that Unity College, our students, and alumni know is such a critical aspect to the learning process, and the start of a great career.

I invite you to take a look at the Alumni page on the Unity College website for more information about opportunities for alumni engagement, as well as offerings and services exclusively available to Unity College alumni.

For those of you who already remain engaged with us, I am profoundly grateful. For those of you who have not taken advantage of these opportunities, I greatly appreciate your consideration. I encourage you to reach out and let us know how you’d like to help! You can contact us at development@unity.edu.
