Updated 6/26/20 2:00 p.m. Unity College is closely monitoring the ongoing outbreak of COVID-19. Our planning updates will be regularly updated here.
Dear Unity College Community,
I know that everyone is eager to learn more about our plans for fall. I would like to thank all of the faculty and staff who participated in the open COVID-19 Senior Staff meetings, reached out to me directly with their insight, and worked with their supervisors and other college leadership to offer suggestions. One of the many things that makes me so proud to work with everyone at Unity College is the strong commitment to our students and putting them first.
Our planning has sought to mitigate risks to our students and employees. It has focused on our goal of providing multiple options for our students to make progress on their educational aspirations. We know that some of our students want to learn online and others want to be in-person and in-residence. When conditions allow, we will return to in-person instruction and until that time we are offering plans for students in all majors to follow their academic passions and earn their Unity College degree.
In the interest of the health and safety of all students and employees, all students will move to remote learning for the 2020-21 academic year. All courses will be taught remotely through Hybrid Learning or online through Distance Education in 5-week terms. The good news for our students is that all students, regardless of major, can continue taking the classes they need to make progress towards earning their degrees. We look forward to a time when we can safely resume in-person classes in traditional numbers at our College locations.
This decision was not made lightly; however it is in the best interest of our students that we move forward with remote learning for the 2020-21 academic year to ensure COVID-19 will not cause yet another disruption in their academic journey. Our faculty and staff look forward to continuing to support our students in helping them be successful in earning their Unity College degree.
