The Unity College Center for the Performing Arts is set to host a new art exhibit titled “Nest” by Matt Demers. This work explores and interprets the composition of wasp and hornet nests with decisive brushstrokes, collage, and abstract mark making. The show will run January 25 – April 7, 2018.

“I’ve always been drawn to the forms, textures, patterns, and energy of these natural sculptural objects,” said Demers, who works out of his studio in Gardiner, Maine. “I wanted to amplify those elements that I love, creating my own unique objects, while remaining true to their original forms”

There will be an opening reception for “Nest” on Thursday, Jan. 25th from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served.
