Credentials

Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Miami.

I received my Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from the University of Miami and Master’s in college teaching from the University of New Hampshire. After postdoctoral research at the University of California-Santa Barbara studying the reaction mechanisms in biologically relevant models, I was an officer and biochemist in the U.S. Army. I have taught college-level chemistry for almost 20 years to include teaching in Durban, South Africa as a Fulbright scholar. As part of this grant, I taught and assisted with curriculum development of preparatory courses aimed at disadvantaged students created by educational inequities of secondary schooling in the apartheid era. My focus now is on undergraduate education with experience teaching a variety of chemistry courses and environmental science.
