Credentials

Ph.D. at the University of Texas in Austin with a focus in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior.

Dr. Kim Ballare is an Adjunct Professor in Wildlife Conservation at Unity College.  She received her PhD at the University of Texas at Austin in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior, and holds an MSc in Applied Ecology and Conservation from the University of East Anglia, and a BA in Environmental, Population, and Organismic Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder.   She has extensive experience researching the genetics of diverse taxonomic groups, including model organisms as well as threatened and endangered fish, mammals, birds, and insects.  Outside of academia she has worked in wildlife genetics labs in both industry and research institutes, including at the Institute of Zoology at the London Zoo, UK.  In her classes Dr. Ballare aims to foster an inclusive and equitable learning environment where student collaboration and mentorship are central.
