The first one is for her students to have an appreciation for science, as long as they can appreciate a field of science, or an aspect of the science being taught, she has succeeded. The second goal is for her students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the ability to utilize them in their everyday lives.
In Prof. Collins’s personal life, she and her husband recently moved from Long Island, NY to South Carolina. They just bought a house in the country and are enjoying their time with their new puppy and embracing southern living. Prof. Collins also enjoys spending time with her niece and nephew, running, cooking/baking with her husband, and reading.
