Credentials
Master's degree in Criminal Justice
Hi class, my name is Leon Young and I will be your instructor for Professional Skills this term at Unity Environmental University. I’m 53 years old and have been married for 15 years. I have 7 children, ranging from 18 to 32 years of age. I have 4 biological and 3 adopted children.
I have worked in the criminal justice field for the past 30 years. I started my career as a correction officer in 1992 and worked as a correction officer until 1998. I became bored as a correction officer and decided to become a Law Enforcement Officer. I attended South Florida College in 1996 and graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy later that year and started working as a Deputy Sheriff, I worked as an deputy sheriff and then Police Officer for approximately 15 years.
While working in Law Enforcement, I attended Hodges University in 2002 and received my master’s degree in Criminal Justice in 2004. In 2009 I started teaching as an instructor in the criminal justice program at Argosy University. I taught for 9 years and enjoyed teaching and believed I was giving my students a first hand experience from the eyes of someone who worked in the criminal justice field. I look forward to helping you all reach your goals in this class.
